Windows Server 2012 Essentials RRS feed

  • Question

  • According to my MSDN subscription level (Visual Studio Professional with MSDN), I currently have access to all the server versions of windows (except VL which I know nothing about) --- Why is Windows Server 2012 Essentials not included in my subscription (I understand that it is only the RC release)

  • I guess you have VS Pro w/ MSDN (Retail) ?

    Available to these Subscription Levels:
    BizSpark
    BizSpark Admin
    VS Premium with MSDN (MPN)
    VS Premium with MSDN (Retail)
    VS Premium with MSDN (VL)
VS Pro with MSDN Premium (Empower)
VS Pro with MSDN Premium (MPN)
    VS Ultimate with MSDN (MPN)
VS Ultimate with MSDN (NFR FTE)
    VS Ultimate with MSDN (Retail)
    VS Ultimate with MSDN (VL)

I can't answer *why* you don't have it listed under your subs dloads, but joe public can get it here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/sbs/jj159331

edit: I'd guess that Pro doesn't include the SBS product range...

Need more specifics on which products are included? Download the full list of products available by subscription level:

  • yes -- joe public can get the beta version -- but I wonder why my subscription does not include this -- if I am to recommend or support this product, then I need to be able to get the findal release version, not the beta or rc

  • windows Server 2012 Essentials is available here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/securedownloads/hh442898#searchTerm=&ProductFamilyId=488&Languages=en&PageSize=10&PageIndex=0&FileId=0

jmorgan, if you can't download it, its because you dont have the right subscription level.  Click the 'details' link next to the download to see what levels have access to it.

If you still have questions, click the site feedback link at the bottom of that page and let me know.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • yes -- you are correct in that I don't have the right subscription level -- my question is why is this operating system excluded from my level -- my level has all the other operating systems available
