Stop button gone in IE10

    General discussion

  • I notice in IE10 desktop mode, Stop and Refresh have been combined into one button and I don't get it. Stop is for stopping the loading of a page and Refresh is for reloading the page. How can you just assume whenever I want to stop the page from loading, I want to Refresh it as well? For partially loaded pages, Stop button was very useful to stop content which took a lot of bandwidth like a HUGE image from downloading. Stop button is also used to stop GIF animations from playing. Please reinstate it. Now Esc is the only way to stop a page from loading.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I will pass it along to the appropriate team. As you noted, currently the Esc key is the method to access the Stop function separate from the combined Stop/Refresh button.
