Visual Studio 2012 vs LightSwitch 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I see that LightSwitch has an standalone setup Visual Studio 2011.

That version is the same with the LightSwitch included in Visual Studio 2012 or it has been updated with more features?

In other words, I want to use only LS in Visual Studio, no C# no ASP.net - nothing.

Should I install VS LightSwitch 2011 and I am ok or I still have to install 2012 that includes LS on it?

Answers

  • Yes, the standalone "Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011" is older version. The newer version is included in "Visual Studio 2012". I suggest you to explore the newer version. Also note that more LightSwitch features were introduced in the Visual Studio 2012 Update 2. Please visit Developer Center for the most recent updates: Visual Studio LightSwitch

    Thanks,
