SharePoint Email Notification for Calendar (Daily Events) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need to create an email notification to go out to an Outlook distribution list that displays all events in a SharePoint calendar that occur on a specific day.  This is meant to be a daily email notification of all events for the day that would go out every morning.

Out of the box the alerts only allow you to send notifications when items are added, changed, or deleted.  I simply want the criteria to be based on the day of the event = today.

Does anyone know how to set this up?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

As I understand, you want to create an email notification daily in SharePoint 2010.

You could enable the retention policy for the email notification. You could go to list setting, Information management policy settings, select one content type you want to apply the email notification, enable retention, and add a retention stage. You could set the event, action and recurrence.

For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.

  • I only have site administrator access, so I cannot access central administration

  • Hi,

You do not need to access central administration. You just go to list setting in the calendar list.
