Can't Install SSMS 2008 on Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm installing dev tools on a 32 bit version of windows 7 for the first time.  I run the install of sql server 2008 selecting client tools.  The install runs fine.  I run SP1.  In my folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE I have just 2 dlls.  No ssms.exe.  It's like nothing installed.

I tried launching sql_ssms.msi directly (by launching via cmd run as administrator).  Nothing happens.

  • Hi Alberto

Sorry for 'hijacking' this thread but...

Is it supported and/or does it work to install using the extracted MSI package?

    Regards Marten
