Dynamics AX 2009 dev RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am requested to think of how to develop a BTS package for Dynamics AX 2009 (this is the first time fo AX  for me). I don't have in my environment AX similar to customer. I understand that AX can generate xsd schemas for its interfaces. What is the best route to follow in order to develop off-site package and then set it up and do integration and testing on the customers AX environment.

  • I think it is BizTalk communications with the application integration framework (AIF).

This article explains how to get the schemas: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa834454.aspx.

Your customer may have customized various aspects of the AX environment so I would try to determine if this impacts your BizTalk integration in any way.

This article gives you information about setting up BizTalk to work with AIF: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd362124.aspx. I would try to build a VM with BizTalk and Dynamics AX and then add customizations to match your customer.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks so much. I have a BTS VM and AX VM. Yes, customer has customized some features, but it can provide xsd schema using I think AIF.

So the idea if I receive his xsd and do development in my environment, would it be later possible to imprt BTS package to his environment or I should go through manual integration for maps.
