    Hi,

Not crystal clear. I don't remember to have ever seen something called "configuration editor search settings" in IIS. Do you mean that your app is using a search service such as https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/search/windows-search ???

Or you mean the web.config editor ? It just allows to edit the configuration for the app you configured and don't see how it could be related to "search directories" ? (ah or you try to edit a web.config file found in a web app subfolder ????)

Keep in mind we have no other context than what you told us.

Ok this is the config file editor but I'm still confused about what you mean by "adding new folders". It should show all config files found under a site or accross all sites if used at the server level (but could be longer to scan all sites) and it seems this search box alllows to find a particular section in all those files. You don't mean you are trying to write an IIS console plugin ???

I don't think you can use that to edit a config file which is not under any web site if this is what you mean. https://forums.iis.net/ could be better for this question and explain there what is the final goal you are trying to reach.
