an issue of adding a domain user to folder security after upgrading to Windows 2012 Server standard RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    I have upgraded Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2012 Server Standard.

    It has SQL 2008 R2 server installed and I have a problem assigning domain users permission to both folders and SQL server (SSAS).

    I can successfully navigate domain users and add them. But when I go back to check the permission of a folder (for example),

    what I see is the screenshot below...    The account with a question mark was a domain account which looked like domainName/username when I added it. I am not sure what is causing this issue. The domain server is Windows 2003 sever Standard(Old one).

    Domain users access to SSAS 2008 R2 and now they all can not access to the server except for the local account users of the server.

    The server is a member of domain for sure. No question about it.

    Somehow the server is not being able to maintain the domain user information or something after initial setup.

    I am supposed to make it all work by 1 Jan 2014...    Hm... quite stressful.. T T;;

    Any suggestions please?
