Rating count discrepancy

    Question

  • The Windows Store shows 5 ratings for an app published recently, but the report shows 8 ratings all of which are older than 48 hours.  I am wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.

  • Hi Hong,

The default is all ratings and reviews for your app be shown together. You should have filters you can set on your dashboard to view only specific markets. You can read more details about this at the Reviewing app ratings and feedback page.

If you are concerned that the ratings and reviews are not reporting correctly, you can submit a support request so we can review your specific account.

    Thanks for the post!

  • Now, I have a feeling that I see ratings only in the US market in the Windows Store. Does the Windows Store show ratings depending on the the viewer's location?

  • Thanks for clarifying it.  I will submit a ticket per your suggestion because I see only 6 ratings in the store while the dashboard shows 10.

  • I have just talked MSFT tech support, and the rep's explanation is the opposite: users only see ratings from their own region.  That is my original hunch.
