Cluster on Windows 7/2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Well, first I am not sure if this question is in correct topic.

Now, I have 3-4 Core2Duo based Computers, with 2GB RAM. But I am only using one PC as my Windows 7 Machine to do my development job. However I was thinking if I can cluster all my machine and then I can run visual studio on them, will give me more processing power in my hand. Instead of selling/throwing old machine and buy new one. As I understand it is somewhat possible to cluster using Linux, but not sure of Windows.

My second question is, can I simply make a VM on my cluster machine, if I cannot use cluster directly? i.e. Once I make cluster using Server Version, can I create a VM which use all nodes of cluster and run my Windows 7 machine on that VM? Not only Visual studio I have some other development work that doesn't run on Windows Server editions. So I need Windows 7 Machine as my working machine.
