Network Diagnostics Tool - No such interface supported RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently I upgraded to use the latest Windows 10 SDK (10.0.10158). After doing so, when i attempt to run the Network Diagnostics Tool i am presented with an error dialog after the application begins to start stating

"Unable to attach Diagnostics Hub to application.... No such interface supported"

This feature had been working great for the past 3 months as i have been profiling my application each sprint to keep track of my metrics.

I have tried to change target to a running application, and that fails as well.

Is this a known issue, and is there any work arounds ?

    Thanks much for any feedback

  • Hi Stephen C. Keefer,

It is related to the network tool like this blog, am I right?

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2015/05/04/introducing-visual-studio-s-network-tool.aspx

So you use the VS2015 RC version, the same app worked well before, am I right? Maybe you could test it in other VS2015 RC machine.

Which kind of app did you really create? Whether all projects have the same issue?

If all projects have the same issue, please repair your VS, and then create a new project, test it again.

But if just one specific solution has this issue, maybe you didn't set up the correct startup project, or it would require you to attach to the specific process.

Or it is related to the VS settings under TOOLS->Options->Debugging. Of course, if possible, you could reset your VS settings, and then test it again.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms247075(v=vs.100).aspx

If still no help, please share me the detailed steps in your new reply, so I could really repro this issue in my side.

    Best Regards,

    Jack

  • You are correct, it is the network diagnostic tool described here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2015/05/04/introducing-visual-studio-s-network-tool.aspx

I just reset all my VS settings, issue still occurred.

Creating a C# Blank App (Windows Universal), issue still occurred.

Re-installing VS 2015 RC did not fix the issue either.

    Current Setup

    VS 2015 RC 14.0.22823.1 D14REL

    Project Type

Visual C# --> Windows Universal --> Blank App (Windows Universal)

-Press F5 to build and test the application

    -Close the application

-Debug --> Start Diagnostic Tools without Debugging...

    -Select Network, and Press Start

    -Message box displays (See Attached)

  • Hi Stephen C. Keefer,

I just test it a windows 8.1 app in VS2015 RC in windows 8.1 machine, I also couldn't collect the network information in my side.

Since the real RTM version is not released now, and the product team members are collecting the feedback for the RC version, to get the issue confirmed and diagnose by product team, would you please create connect report for it? You will get email notification for update.http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/CreateFeedback.aspx

If you submit a report, please share me the link here, of course, I will test it in a new Windows 10 machine, if I get the same issue as yours, I will help you vote your report.

    Sincerely,

    Jack
