WM5 SDK for Smartphones RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a question relating to Windows Mobile 5 SDK for Smartphones.

I've been programming in VB.NET for several years, and decided to download Net60, which allows me to make programs for Symbian series 60 devices aswell, with a prerequisite that I have WM5 SDK for Smartphones installed, as Net60 converts Windows Mobile programs into S60 programs.

Problem is, it won't let me install the SDK unless I have Visual Studio 2008. I can't afford Visual Studio 2008, because programming is only a hobby of mine, I have no education in it, and I only wanted to do this because I own a S60v5 device myselv, and it would be fun to make some useless yet amusing programs for it.

My real question is; I have Visual Basic 2008 Express installed, is there any way I could use the WM5 SDK for Smartphones with that install?

Any help would be much appreciated!
