We have recently update our visual studio 2010 SP1. After updating, we try to build our windows service project. This service requires database access and is written in C++. Everything seems to work in the development machine. We can register the service
and the service can start no problem. However, when we build the MSI and then install in the server. It has the following error: "Error 0x80004002: No such interface supported" and failed to start the service. We just installed visual studio 2010 sp1 in the
build machine but we didn't update anything in the server. (Microsoft Native client and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.31118 are both installed in the server). That same MSI works in the development machine, but failed in the server.
We then went back to another build machine which doesn't have SP1 installed and build, then deploy to the server, it works in the server. The service started without problem. The source code are the same, so it must be some library is missing after SP1 installed.
Does anyone has any idea why this happened?
Thanks a million.
