  • Question

  • hi all,

just a quick one, what will happen to all the services I disabled in my image after I run Syspres?

  • Sysprep will die messily if you disable certain services.

The ones I found that killed me are:

    • sysmain (for superfetch, kept getting reenabled, I have SSDs)
    • iisadmin (disable this and sysprep will explode)

I ended up putting firstlogon commands to kill them off.

    • sc config sysmain start= disabled
    • sc config iisadmin start= disabled

  • Nothing should happen, but if they do get enabled for some reason call the SC.EXE command in a sysprep unattend.xml to disable them again.
