Add-in. How to update the "duration" field of an existing task?

Used by:
  - Ms Project 2016 Pro Desktop;
  - Add-in. C # or VBA;
 
I have:
  - task id;
  - field name;
  - new end of the field.
 
How to update the "duration" field of an existing task?
I would be grateful if someone shares the code, or at least the logic, how this can be implemented.

You need to understand how Project works, so manually do what you think you need by editing the duration field directly, editing work or resource units.

Then record a macro of you doing what you want to get the relevant VBA code. Unless the task is happening now, use any method that does not set a task constraint. Task constraint change the critical path, require manual updating and cost you time and effort.
