Deploying windows program to a pc not having sql server. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using visual studio 2012 ultimate edition.

I have made a project which connects with sql server for data handling as it fetches data from internet. Now i want to make an installation package of this project to run on some other computers. Now the problem is that the client computer may not have sql server .

So is it possible to run the program on that system without installing sql server installation or else i have to do some changes to my solution such that it runs on that computer also?

  • Are you saying the application connects to a remote SQL server to retrieve data?  As long as you are simply using System.Data.SqlClient, the needed connectivity components are included in the .NET framework.  No additional install is needed.
