Unable to connect to Datasource through Report Builder RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an issue, where I am unable to connect to the Datasource through the report builder. Seeing error message as "Unable to connect to datasource" and when I clicked on details, it shows as Login Failed for the user. We are using windows integrated security for authentication. Please advice what could be the issue.

  • Hi Sri30,

Is the data source shared data source or embedded data source?

Could you please try to run Report Builder as administrator?

    Best Regards,

    Amelia

  • Here is how you could troubleshoot this issue:

    1. On the toolbar in the Report Data pane, double-click the data source. The Data Source Properties dialog box opens.

    2. Click Test Connection.

    3. If the connection is successful, the following message appears: "Connection created successfully". Click OK.

    4. If the connection is not successful, the following message appears: "Unable to connect to the data source."

    5. Click Details, and use the information to correct the issue.

    6. Click OK.

    Regards.

    Best Regards,
