Segoe UI Light font availability

Question

So Microsoft hands out thorough PSD's for Metro app design but will not include this font? Where can I get this font? I am sure I will have to pay for it, but thought it was odd that it wasn't included in the design files.

The link on that page takes you to Segoe UI Mono, not Segoe UI Light.Tuesday, August 28, 2012 12:26 PM

I'd suggest following the "Contact Microsoft Typography" link on the bottom of the page to ask.
It is available on Windows 7 and Windows 8 machines by default, so if you're using one of those OSes you should have it.

Hi, sorry for the delay in responding. I agree the links on the typography site are not helpful, we'll try to get them fixed.
In answer to your question Segoe UI Light comes with Windows 7 and Windows 8. It is not available at retail for use on other platforms. If you're not using Windows then an alternate humanist style sans serif font family could be substituted in mock-ups.
Thanks, Si
