Windows 7 - System files corrupt RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have a very interesting copy of Windows 7 running on my laptop. The system files and the access control lists are changing themselves to a custom configuration.

I initially thought it was a virus or a Trojan but the extend of modification of the default system architecture is too much. My weekly internet usage is not more that 10 MB DOWN+UP.

I tried running the SFC /scannow to fix the system files however the scan came up with a message that some files cannot be replaced as the backup copy in store is corrupt too. I tried another test where I tried changing the system and user variables from command prompt, registry and WMI however my OS retained the former variable values.

If you would like to use my OS Image as an research subject, I would be happy to provide you with the necessary material and the CBS.log file.
