Wordfunctions differ between standalone and running in Webbrowser RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

in my application I use the .NET control WebBrowser for viewing documents. If you set the property Url to a documentpath of the filesystem, the control host the connected application as Browserapplication, and let it display the content in its Browserwindow.

This works fine for most Officedocuments/applications.

Unfortunately concerning word, there are some functions which do not work in case of running as browserapplication. E.g. there is the function for stepping through several adresses in case of a serialletter, which are loaded from a datasource. This function is deactivated if Word is running as browserapplication, but is available when starting word externally with exactly the same document.

    Why ???

    regards

    Fritz
