  • Joan,

Click on Approval Center.  All submitted tasks, for projects that you own, will appear.  You can select the ones you wish to manually accept by clicking on the box in the left-most column of the row listing the tasks (note the projects in which they belong).  The next step is to click the "Accept" button on the ribbon toolbar of the Approval Center.  To publish these, you will now need to open Project 2010 Pro and select each project for the tasks you selected and approved.  When you are finished publishing all the projects that you manually accepted tasks for, go back to the Approval Center, and follow the steps I outlined in the text box above.

    Best wishes,

    Tom

  • Hi,

Autopublish is there since SP1 for approval rules - so it is done after status updates are approved by the status manager. There is no OOTB function to do that once a week, but it should be fairly easy to code via PSI.

  • Hi there,

There is an example on how to do this via the PSI and Powershell here:

    Hope that helps

  • It is an out-of-the-box feature.  Go to the Approval Center, click the Manage Rules button on the ribbon, click on New button.  You will have to name your rule, then choose the automation that you want.  If you want to accept, approve, and publish updates from resources whenever they submit them, then click on both options.  If you want to control when the process, then only click on the automatically publish feature.  Choosing the latter option will require an action by the PM, after the task updates have been submitted by the resources, to click on the Manage Rules from the Approval Center, select the rule you created, then click Run Selected.  This will accept, approve, and publish all updates without further action by you.  It is best that you verify that it all worked by viewing the queue, looking into Approval | History, or going to Project Center and selecting the "Publish Date View".

  • Tom, thanks for your explanations… I have another doubt, Could I choose some tasks from “Approval Center” and after that, select and run the rule?

  • Yes, you can choose to manually approve some tasks and leave the rest for auto-publishing.  Be sure to set up the rule with only the auto-publish checked.  If you check both options, then the rule will run and publish tasks whenever a resource submits their timesheet updates.
