Can't get KinectV2 to work as webcam RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Microsoft Team,

a few days ago i bought myself a kinect V2. I did the cabling (at a USB 3 port with drivers uptodate and with no other devices connected) and installed the SDK (KinectSDK-v2.0_1409-Setup). The Kinect itself (colour, depth and infra) works just fine within KinectStudio v2.0.

    Accoridng to this post (
https://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2016/11/04/kinect-demo-code-and-new-driver-for-uwp-now-available/#OhwfiRbb8u5qazrx.97) I updated the "WDF KinectSensor Interface 0" to Version "2.2.1610.17001" (Attachment1) via the wind10 device Manager -> update device to use it as a normal webcam.

But neither in microsofts Skype nor in the camera app I'm getting any results - only the error message "
"Your webcam is currently being used by another application.". Also websites like webcamtests.com do recognise the camera as  "Kinect V2 Video Sensor" but wont come up with any image, giving me the error message "Apparently, your webcam is being used or blocked by another application."

    The processes
"KinectMonitor.exe", "KinectService.exe" and "KStudioHostService.exe" are running according to the task manager (Attachment2) - also when the kinect is not connected to the computer. Also the "Kinect Configuration Verifier" gives me green lights for every point (except the usb port where it shows me a yellow sign saying "Unknown USB 3.0 port detected. Your USB configuration may support Kinect for Windows")

You can find details about my system in attachment nr3. I'm glad for every hint! Thanks
