How to send information to a USB printer via usbprint.sys? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I want to develop a Windows software to connect with a printer and send some information to the printer via Windows USB driver.

But I can't get some information in Microsoft, could someone please help me to answer my question?

    1. How to connect USB printer and send information via usbprint.sys?

    2. How to send information to USB printer through EndPoint1?

    3. Is it necessary to create a new driver program to implement above function?

I look forward to hearing from someone, thank you.

  • The printer APIs are an abstraction.  You don't worry about whether it is a serial, parallel, or USB printer, and you certainly don't worry about endpoints.  You just create a printer DC and draw to it, just like you were drawing to a window.  There are many examples on how to do printing in Windows.
