Number of Pushpin limitations on Bings Maps Web Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to use the Bing Maps API to render a large number of locations from a SQL Server database, I am running into a problem were it seems that it will not always render as many pushpins as I would like it to. From a practical stance I can get around 18 pushpins to display. After looking in to this problem I found that there is a maximum of 10 here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc980872.aspx   . Is there a way to change this limitation or get around it?

  • Hello Rejann,

Is there a specific reason to use the pushpins using the imagery service?

If not, you could try adding the pushpins to your Bing maps AJAX/Silverlight control by specifying the lat/long (which you can get using the geocoding service).

We have interactive SDKs for both the controls. These demonstrate the functionality and also provide sample code listings showing you how to achieve it.

For adding pushpins, you might like to go through the following links:

    AJAX:
    http://www.microsoft.com/maps/isdk/ajax/
I want to: -> Customise shapes -> Add custom shapes

    Silverlight:
    http://www.microsoft.com/maps/isdk/silverlight
I want to: -> Use pushpin layers -> Add a custom pushpin

    Hope this helps.

    Amar
