  • When downloading and installing a newer version of .2NET framework to .3 NET framework, can the older version be removed from the computer or do all the .NET need to be in the computer.

  • No, because the SP's are additive and do not replace each other.

    There is another factor that makes it seem as if there are more framework version than really exist is the numbering system.

    .NET Framework 2.0/3.0/3.5 are all ONE framework. 2.0 is the base, full, framework. 3.0 and 3.5 are extensions of 2.0, NOT full frameworks. I.e. you cannot have 3.5 unless you also have 2.0 and 3.0.
