WSS on Windows XP RRS feed

  • Question

  • My development box is running Windows XP. While I know it isn't a supported configuration, is it possible to run WSS on Windows XP for doing my development? If so, are there some walkthroughs for setting it up? I searched the web but couldn't find any guidance.

(Note: I'm really just interested in the WSS on XP question. I know I can run WSS on separate Server machine (physical or virtual) and then do deployment and remote debugging or install VS on the server and do local debugging. There are certainly other options available to me. However, just being able to put WSS on my existing development virtual image would be the most convenient.)

  • Windows Xp IIS support only a website (Default Website) active. i think it's very unsupported installation of WSS on a Xp machine.
