Access violation when working with WebSockets RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to write a websockets based app and ran into a blocker issue. Running IE10 or WWAHost.exe against my WebSockets server (custom implementation in C# tested to work with Google Chome14) causes an AV in IE10 and WWAHost.exe. I realize that the WebSockets implementation that I use on server side might not be perfect, but it shouldn't cause an AV (potential security issue).

I have a 100% working repro. Whom should I work with on this issue?

  • Jeff,

I've sent you email via blog. It has the repro HTML. It turns out it is not related to my Websockets implentation since it causes a crash even if the server is offline.

  • Thanks!

This reproduces in IE 10 so I filed a bug with that team.
