Is WSS 3.0 Certified for Windows Server 2008? RRS feed

  • Question

  •

The application that I'm testing leverages WSS 3.0

So I would like to know if WSS 3.0 has been certified for Windows Server 2008?

    Regards,

    Chan

  • Hello Chan

Thanks for your interest in the Certified For Windows Server Logo program

Windows Sharepoint Server 3.0 is not yet certified for Windows Server 2008.

Please note that Server applications (including Microsoft applications) are able to take the Certified For Windows Server 2008 program only after Windows Server 2008 RC0 was released recently.

  • Are you able to give us a time frame as to when we could reasonably expect WSS 3.0 to be certified? Our product relies heavily on WSS 3.0, so this information would be very useful.

  • We have a solution built on MOSS2007; is the latter certified for Win2008 already? Also, does it have to be certified first so that we can get our product certified as well?

  • Lena,

This was answered in another (less related) thread:

I assume if WSS isn't certified then MOSS wouldn't be as well as it's built on top of WSS.

This is only an assumption as I don't work for Microsoft.
