Begin learning network programming

Hi

Can any one Advice me of a book to start learning network programming (Sockets...etc)
I found a book based on .net framework 1.1 called "C#_Network_Programming"
is there a lot of diffrence between network programming in 1.1 and 2.0

can i be more specific so u can help me

- I don't Know any thing about network programming

- i want to learn it based on .net framework (using C# or vb.net)

 

so which book should i use to start

 

*** i have a copy of the first book u mentioned "C# Network Programming " and it is based on .net framework 1.1 (is there a big diffrence between it and 2.0 considering network programming)

There is no big difference between 1.1 and 2.0 in the context of network programming APIs.

 

If you're a novice in network programming this book should suffice to get the basics.

 

Also consider reading books about network protocols. When designing network exchange protocols some background knowledge will greatly help.
