  • The AJAX and Silverlight map controls both run client-side, so you can't control them using server-side code.

    The Bing Maps Web Services (the imagery service, geocoding service etc.) are WCF services that can be called server-side and then just send a static .PNG map back to the client - is that what you want?

  • Could you explain in a little more detail what you are looking to do?

    Are you looking to load map data via ajax to display on the page?

    Are you looking to handle map events and manipulate the map from server-side code?
