How to know the azure storage is full or the free space it have

    Question

  • Hi Team,

As we know that each azure storage account has a storage limit 500TB,

how can we get how much free space it has or the storage is full.

if we can know  the storage has no space we can switch to another azure storage account.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Baker.aveinc,

You should use some azure storage management tools like this: http://storageexplorer.com/

  • Thanks David

Are there any REST API or method that we can get the free space of azure storage ?

The background is that we have an application that running at azure and the application  write data to azure storage ,

so we need to judge if the azure storage has free space to  write.

    Best regards.

  • You can determine the free storage using PowerShell, as shown here:
    https://www.amido.com/code/windows-azure-storage-capacity-metrics-with-powershell/

Also, it looks like you can set an alert on the used space from the portal:

  • HI

You can monitor your storage account.

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/storage-monitor-storage-account/

and also refer storage analytics for more information.

    Thanks
