hi,

I was created report(chart report that is available in ssrs) using sql server management studio.now i want add text description for that chart.so i want to know that where is possibly those descriptions are available in any of the microsoft website.please help me with URL LINK of the microsoft that contains that chart descirption.

Hi Nirmal,

Reporting Services provides two report authoring tools – Report Builder and Report Designer in Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS). If I understand correctly, you created the report in Report Designer in BIDS, right? Regarding the chart description, do you mean the description for the entire report or the description for the chart within the report? If the former, we can deploy the report to a report server, and modify the Description property of the report manually from the report manager. Please see the screenshot below:

If the latter, you can set the Tooltip of the chart within the report using the following steps:

1. Right click on the white space in the chart, and open the Chart Properties dialog box.
2. Input the text of the chart description in the Tooltip textbox.
