How to keep an 3g/GPRS connection alive RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!
I'am developing an application wich connects to a company network trough Internet+vpn via 3G.
Establishing the internet connection using the connection manager api's seems to work fine, but the 3g connection is active just for a couple of seconds
    and then disconnects.

Is it possible to control the closing of a GPRS/3G connection?

  • You can set the amount of time after which the GPRS connection is disconnected in the registry.

You will need to edit the following two registry values in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\

the 1st value is DWORD CacheTime the number denotes the number of seconds to wait before the auto disconnect

the 2nd value is Multiline value / String SuspendResume which can have 2 values:

    ~GPRS! (always On)
    GPRS_bye_if_device_off (timeout after CacheTime)
