  • If you were using backup and restore you can restore your app:

    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/web-sites-restore/

    If not, then because Wordpress stores state in the database, you should still be okay. Create a wordpress site with the same version as the one you deleted, and then edit the wp-config as follows:

    Change the following lines in your wp-config.php to align with your MySQL database and siteurl:

    define('DB_NAME', 'YOUR-NAME');
    define('DB_USER', 'YOUR-NAME');
    define('DB_PASSWORD', 'YOUR-NAME');
    define('DB_HOST', 'YOUR-NAME');
    define('WP_HOME','YOUR-NAME');
    define('WP_SITEURL','YOUR-NAME');

    You're probably going to lose any extra extensions and custom code that you installed, but your blog content should still be there.

  • can you please share the name of the deleted site and approx time of deletion?

    Do you need the full site content or some specific config files that Adrian mentioned below?

    Also please create a standard site (to avoid quota ) so the restored content can be placed there

  • Thanks Galin, the site is poojabaraskar.azurewebsites.net (poojabaraskar.com). It was deleted on June 23rd between 1:00 am- 1:20 am Indian Time or some time before creating this thread. I need all the contents. I have created a website with same name in standard tier. Thanks again.

  • Thanks a ton. The home page got recovered but not the other pages and posts. Is it possible to recover all the data. If I reconstruct the site all the comments will not be there as it was in the previous one.

  • Pooja, there is a backup/restore feature which takes care of site content/metadata and belonging database as well at user specified intervals. From the logs all content as of 2015-06-22T19:03:14.3616549Z  was restored. If you're more specific on the missing content and when it was created I might be able to dig deeper
