Hello

i want to start with WAP application which will allow data frm database to be displayed on the mobile

with regards to the same i need help to start with

as per my knowledge for developing anything fro mobile we need to use WAP

Hi,

As per your requirement, you can develop a general ASP.NET web application which works absolutely fine with Mobile browsers.

No need to develop WAP web application for Mobile devices. Now a days all Mobile devices are capable for displaying HTML markup.

Add the following META tags for making general ASP.NET web application compatible for Mobile devices.

 

 

<meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="true" />
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width" />

i have gone thr' the link u provided

in hwich u have stated that a normal asp.net website with some meta tags works well on mobile using some stimulators

i got a reference to download Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit (MMIT) and use it

i culd not find a link to downlad the toolkit

2) with the asp.net application i will need to register the domain name & upload the pages

is there any way that i can just develop it fr mobile applicaton

but then whts the difference in WAP development & asp.net(mobile)

whts SMARTDEVICE in VS2008 using c#

i am very new , i had opened a SMARTDEVICE page which contains a image of a mobile & each button has events

which is better to use
