Cannot download Platform Builder for Windows CE 6.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to download the Platform Builder for Windows CE 6.0 from Microsoft download section but all I get it a setup.exe file. Now when I execute the file, it gives an error and nothing happens.

Can someone provide a link from which I can download the 180 days trial version. This is very very urgent.

    Thank you,
    CED

  • Hi Erwin,

Yes, I tried the link but when I start the ,msi file I am getting this error:
This release requires the following pre-requisites. Please install any that are missing and restart this setup.
At least one CPU from Windows Embedded CE 6.0

I didn't have any CE 6.0 installation. So I am downloading the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 installation from this following link and downloading all the cab files and the setup file.

    Hope this will work.

  • Hi,

I tried all of the three links but one is a SP. For other two same thing happens. After downloading the setup.exe, it cannot install the software offline. An error message is shown.

  • Hi,

As I observed setup.exe size is very less and installs the components from online while you run the setup.

Have you given a try when you are connected to internet?

  • Hi,

Yes I have tried the online setup but it does not work. It tries to get the files from
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/0/9/a09e587c-4ff9-4a58-a854-56fe50b862b2//Windows Mobile//*

but actually the files are in the folder
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/0/9/a09e587c-4ff9-4a58-a854-56fe50b862b2//

I have downloaded all the cab files from the above path, but how do I install them now?

    Edited :

I have also gone through this link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/products/windowsce/getting-started.mspx
But alas! Nothing seems to be working.

    Another point...
I have downloaded all the files from
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/0/9/a09e587c-4ff9-4a58-a854-56fe50b862b2//

But I am unable to install it. Does R2 required Earlier version of Windows CE 6.0 to be installed?

    Thank you,

  • Have you even checked the tool mentioned by CED?:
    http://guruce.com/blogpost/offlineinstallationofthece60r2update

You can download a tool (which is zipped) called DownloadCE6R2.exe.

If you run this tool it will automatically download all neccesary file for you. When finished go to the folder where you've downloaded and double click the "Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2.msi"
