outlook 365 addin on delegate calendars RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I was trying outlook 365 addin on a delegate calendar, i found that addin button appears fine but when addin is loaded then office api does not give me correct information, it always give information about my own mailbox. Similarly i can not access custom properties if if am opening addin on delegate calendars.

I am not sure if its supported or not. if not, then what are the chances that microsoft will make chnages to support 365 addin on delegate calendars.

    Thanks

    Nitrup

  • Hi Nitrup,

Could you share us which Office API you used?

    >> i can not access custom properties if if am opening addin on delegate calendars

Could you share us how did you access custom properties?

Did you develop Outlook Add-in with Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016? It would be helpful if you could share us more information about your issue, and detailed steps to reproduce your issue.

    Best Regards,

    Edward

Nitrup :  its a javascript based Office API  provided by Microsoft for Outlok 365 addin devlopment

    >> Could you share us how did you access custom properties?

Nitrup : by using office api inbuilt methods, ofiice.context.mailbox.item. loadCustomPropertiesAsync

Do you mean your Add-In Show up correctly on delegate calendar? Could you share us a simple project through OneDrive? I made a test with this on delegate calendar compose mode, but I failed to make the task pane show up. It works correctly in my own mailbox. A detailed steps would be helpful.

  • Hi Edward,

It depends how you share calendar. Like from outlook 2016 or outlook 2013 i can give access of my calendar by going into calendar properties.

However, i found that if i try to create a meeting for delegate calendar in 2013 or 2016 then apps for office/office button  is disabled. However in web version i can see the addin button and task pane opens fine.

I have not have any sample addin yet as i found it on our own addin only. well, there is nothing extra ordinary you need to do to replicate this apart from above step.

Let me know if you still need more info.

    Thanks

  • Hi Nitrup,

    Thanks for detailed information.

After modifying the permission, I could get the same result that Office Add-in button is disabled. For this issue, I assume the function is not ready for shared calendar.

    Best Regards,

    Edward

  • Hi Edward,

Thanks for confirming. so the issue is with web version where your addin button is still enabled on shared calendar

But then if you go into addin task pane, it gives you the information about current mailbox not shared one which is bit confusing.

Anyways, can it be confirmed form somewhere officially that shared mailbox does not support addin?

    Thanks

  • Hi Nitrup,

To be honesty, I am not able to say it is supported or not, there is no such document to indicate that. This is just my thinking.

I would suggest you submit a feedback in the link below:
