What cube feature/setup do I need to fix this problem? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Using 2005.

My cube expertise does not extend much beyond "if the wizard can't do it neither can I".  When I select a finance code of 701 I get the first example. When I select a code of 703 (no 703 exist) I get the second. Is that right? There are no 703s, but each Org has a 499. I was expecting that the grand total would be 0 when looking for 703s. My cube is laid out so that all tables have regular relationships. The issue might be that Finance and Ledger codes are in the same dimension. Do I need to do something to self join the dimension? This all started becuase I got the "Where clause cannot contain multiple measures" known bug. I say that in case the info is helpful.

  • Doing further research I think this is the way it is supposed to be. There are no values for 703, but there are values for 499. Hence the grand total. Is that correct?

  • The measures are not calculated, they are just "standard" (?? is that the term ??) measures.

    The presentation layer is Excel.
