Quick Launch Selection not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    I am adding Pages in Left Navigation in sharepoint 2010 with Query string (i.e ...Pages/Account%20Settings.aspx?abc=kamal). But left navigation menu node is not getting highlighted ( which is the default functionality of SP 2010). But its working when there is no Query string.

    Plz help..

    Regards,

    Kamal Pundir

  • You can enable to allow space characters rather than converting to "-" signs in "Site Actions" - "Site Settings" - "Look and Feel" - "Page Layouts and Site Templates" - scroll down to the bottom and located the "Convert blank spaces in page name to '-'" option.

    Regarding the highlighting: please compare the Url in the browser with the exact Url in the navigation. Because the navigation will only highlight if it is identical. If (e.g.) the Url in the browser is with a blank rather than %20 you will not get a highlight.

  • Which Page are you adding? For the publishing page, its never allow you to space as space will be converted to "-" and the page be there in selection of quick launch when you included it.

  • Can you add the below css class in your custom css or add it in a Content Editor Webpart under <Style></Style> tags on the page

    .static .selected .menu-item{

                    background-color:green !important;

    }

  • For the Navigation object, if a URL has a query string it considers it to be an "External" link, and external links are not checked for highlighting.

    At least that has been my experience.
