    Question

  • How can I start a blank html project. I don't see it in the defaults. If possible you should include it.

  • Hi Stephen619,

I don't really see why you want to have template for HTML project... And yes, there is no such a thing in Visual Studio, you have solution with:

File -> New -> Web Site -> Visual C# -> ASP.NET Empty Web Site ... but however you will get a two config files named packages.config and Web.config and you can not truly consider that as a project for HTML.

I suggest you to go instead with Visual Studio to go with Visual Studio Code new code editor from Microsoft and it is the best code editor out there for web development.

You can check it out here: https://code.visualstudio.com/

In VS Code you don't have HTML project template but if you ask me that is not needed you can generate new project with popular generator or do it by your self in Windows.

I strongly recommend you to go with Visual Studio Code for your HTML/CSS/JS web site, it is very simple to use and it is very powerful and best code editor out there.

And also on Channel9 you can find a lot of great tutorials about Visual Studio Code: https://channel9.msdn.com/Tags/visual-studio-code

Hope this was helpful for you...

    Best regards!

  • Thanks for Almir Vuk's help.

    Hi Stephen619,

I agree with Almir Vuk. In Visual Studio, there doesn't has such project template for HTML project now. I suggest you post your idea to Visual Studio User Voice and then share the feedback link here. It can let other communities who has the same requirement to vote and add comments for your feedback.

Before your feedback be accepted, I recommend you try the steps that Almir Vuk suggested. And if you decide to use Visual Studio Code and there has any questions about Visual Studio Code, please post your questions on StackOverFlow with vscode tag.

    Best Regards,
    Weiwei
