HCK controller installation failed with error code 1603 RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I am having trouble installing win8 HCK on MS 2008 Server 64bit.

    Here is the portion of the log that shows the return value 3.

    Please help.

  • I'm guessing that you've had a very old pre-release of HCK Studio installed on your machine. This is noted by the error message "The source 'LogoManager' is not registered in log 'HCK - Hardware Certification Kit'. (It is registered in log 'WLK - Windows Logo Kit'.)". You need to remove the old "WLK - Windows Logo Kit" event logger source by deleting the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\eventlog\WLK - Windows Logo Kit.
