  • Hi linze--sorry for the delayed response. We're putting together some sample data for System.Identity as we speak and should have it within a week. I'll post a link here when it's available.

  • Thanks for waiting--the sample data (that comes from Northwind) can now be found on http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/SQLModCTPIdentity. The download is simply composed of an "M" file with the sample data, and a readme.

    Enjoy--

  • Kraig,

      thanks you!

      Have read the sample,a little simple but enough to understanding the System.Identity.

      A further question:

      At pdc2009 have show some API like

    (see:http://microsoftpdc.com/sessions/svc28)

    //Create Parties,IdentityKeys and relationships
    private static void Demo1(){
     DirectorContext directory = new DirectorContext(localDirectory);
     //add a party
     Party scotlandYard = new Party(
      "Metropolitan Police Service",
      Kinds.Party.Organization,
      Kinds.Organization.Government);
      //add IdentityKeys
      scotlandYard.AddIdentityKey(
       Kinds.IdentityKeys.Phone,
       "+44 20 300 123 1212"
      );
      scotlandYard.AddIdentityKey(
       Kinds.IdentityKeys.URL,
       "http://www.met.Police.uk"
      );
      //add location
      scotlandYard.AddLocation("New Scotland Yard","Broadway",
      "Landan","Westminister","UK","Swih OBG", true);
      //Persist to directory
      directory.parties.InsertOnSubmit(scotlandYard);

    If, as I expected,must has something class or function implementtation in System.Identity.dll, let user easy to use the identity.but this time System.Identity.dll has nothing. be it under development? and when to release?

     thanks!

    ps:

  • Greetings Linze!

    I checked with the System.Identity folks (i.e., Gert Drapers, et al) regarding the planned release for a System.Identity API. At this time there isn't a release date for the System.Identity API, although the product team is currently working hard on the overall System.Identity product release schedule.

    The System.Identity team is highly interested in your feedback and they hope in the interim that you would be willing to play with the CTP API bits and provide the product team feedback via Connect. As I mentioned in my blog, the place to get the System.Identity bits and provide the product team with feedback is http://connect.microsoft.com/SystemIdentity.

    Thanks,

    Dave Langer

  • Will there be a "seamless" integration story between System.Identity & WIF?

  • Greetings Linze, Lars!

    My apologies for not knowing this sooner. Here's the process:

    1. Navigate to http://connect.microsoft.com
    2. In top right corner of the page, below "Sign in", there's a text box labeled "Your invitation ID"
    3. Input the invitation ID of "SI-47X9-QCVQ" and click the "Go" button
    4. Log into Connect on the next page per normal

    Enjoy!

    Thanx,

    Dave
