Taking SharePoint Document Libraries Offline RRS feed

  • Question

  • My questions is concerning taking SharePoint 2010 documents offline using Outlook 2010. My question is when you connect a document library to Outlook, are the offline document library documents counted against your storage space on the Exchange server?

As well, if that is true, can you have it directly go to an outlook data file so it won't take up space? I already know about SharePoint Workspace, but that isn't an option for my agency at this time. Thanks!

  • Hi,

When you takes your documents offline,it will use your local system as storage not on the Exchange.

In this scenario,Outlook will have the connection reference to your local file system for offline updates and later synchronize with team site.
