SSIS Azure integration runtime and access to on premise servers

    Question

  • Hi,

We would like to deploy on Azure Integration runtime , 3 SSIS packages who have acces to on premise SQL Server.

I have a question , is it possible please to avoid to use a VNet network to access to on premise resources ( MS SQL Server) ?
In fact for us (BI developper) it's a litle tricky to parameter the VNet network.

Can you instead link the private self hosted run time  with our SSIS packages ?

We use already use these self hosted run times with 2 pipelines and the configuration is very simple.

    Regards

  • Unfortunately, using VNet is the only way to access on-prem data with Azure-SSIS IR for now, but we can guide you/your network team to configure your VNet (email me: sawinark@microsoft.com).  We'll consider/investigate leveraging Self-Hosted IR on-prem connectivity in the future.
