Outlook Addins not work with Outlook 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have developed one Addins which works fine with Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010.  It uses Microsoft.ffice.Interop.Outlook Version 12.0 as a reference.  But it is not supported by Outlook 2013.

For Outlook 2013, it might required version 15.0.  I have Office 2013 and Outlook 2013 but not found any reference of Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook Version 15.0.

Please suggest me from where I can get Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook Version 15.0.

  • your addin does not neet new PIA - simply distribute needed PIA dlls along with your addin and everything will be fine (or if you want you can set them as prerequisites in your setup and have them installed automatically)

  • Or if using Framework 4 or later just embed the PIA and not have to bother with deployment or prerequisites.

My addins often reference the Outlook 2003 PIA (outlook 11) and will run on Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013. There should be no problem with that as long as you don't try to use methods/properties/events not in the oldest version that's referenced without using late binding or dynamic object variables.
