New Active Directory on an existing Exchange Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys

I have a major problem here. Active Directory server crashed and after trying everything, I'm forced to re install it. That server was the Domain Controller, DHCP and DNS Server. On the same environment, there is a server running only Exchange Server 2010, on Server 2012. The crashed server was also on 2012.

My question is, after reinstalling the AD Server, is there a way I can get Exchange to work with the the new AD, without having to reinstall Exchange itself?

    Please help

  • Dont you have backup of AD server?

    do you know about DSRM?

try to recover AD server though DSRM (directory service restore mode)

If you are not aware of this, call Microsoft for support.

  • Exchange will not work if the ACtive directory has crashed.  the only option to is to go look for any backup of the AD and restore it using the DSRM directory service restore mode.
