OleDbCommand errors on FoxPro Trigger RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I am running a .NET 1.1 framework application. I am using an OleDbCommand trying to connect to a FoxPro 8.0 table. The issue I am running into is that the INSERT trigger on the dbf file is blowing up with the error: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException : Function argument value, type, or count is invalid.

I know that this is a valid trigger because it works within a FoxPro application.

So, is there a way to turn off the triggers or to somehow get this to work?

*Note, I am also having this issue on a delete command

  • After doing some searching I found this web site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa975627(VS.71).aspx

When I dug into the actual triggers and commented out some code I was able to run my command. So, long story short, I can't run my command. Hurray.

My "solution" is to write a little VFP COM component that will handle my SQL commands.
