  • Thanks Tommy. From this day onward I first will provide a warning then if not heeded will remove post such as this one in regards to advertising third party products unless they specify it's a paid library and also offer a solution that is not paid for.

With that mentioned tonight I will write up a sticky post on this topic.

Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmarked them if they provide no help, this will help others who are looking for solutions to the same or similar problem. Contact via my Twitter (Karen Payne) or Facebook (Karen Payne) via my MSDN profile but will not answer coding question on either.

    Yeah, I guess.

It would not be so "bad" if it was just a causal mention by an honest member.

But, if one starts looking at the posters activity every post is spam. You can look at the poster and the postee same thing.. spam...spam...spam! Start looking at the links to the posts that are posted. Look at those authors. Its in all the forums.

Now I suspect many of the OPs are BS as well. They seem to ask the same questions a lot. Get the same answers.

Never noticed it like this but now I see it everywhere I look. Not just here. I see it at home depot and amazon... post phoney questions... post a phoney answer to another question on another forum pointing to your product. I guess its nothing new just that its getting so bad.

    :(

Good to know and with that after today I will remove these post to a off topic forum.

  • You need to use a pdf api. Check the following links:

    https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/a71939/how-to-add-watermark-on-pdf-files/

    https://www.codeproject.com/Questions/1019743/How-to-add-watermark-image-in-pdf-file

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2372041/c-sharp-itextsharp-pdf-creation-with-watermark-on-each-page

Some of the code is in c#, but I think you can transfer it to vb.net by simply using a online code converter like http://converter.telerik.com/

    Hello,

I'm letting this slide this time but in the future do not mention third party products along and always mention a third party library is a paid for library when it is. Otherwise the post will be removed so consider this a warning.

  • You can use GroupDocs.Watermark for .NET (https://products.groupdocs.com/watermark/net) to add text or image watermarks on PDF document. This is how you can apply a text watermark in VB.NET:

    Imports GroupDocs.Watermark

    Dim doc As Document = Document.Load("D:\\demo.pdf") Dim font As Font = New Font("Arial", 19, FontStyle.Bold Or FontStyle.Italic) Dim watermark As TextWatermark = New TextWatermark("Test watermark", font) watermark.ForegroundColor = Color.Red watermark.BackgroundColor = Color.Blue watermark.TextAlignment = TextAlignment.Right watermark.Opacity = 0.5 doc.AddWatermark(watermark) doc.Save("D:\\demo_watermarked.pdf")
