How to set the Version Number of an Executable RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

When I create applications using VS2010 with .NET CF 2.0 I always get back a 0.0.0.0 as the file version no matter what I set the version to in my Assembly file. If however I create a DLL, then I get the correct version information.

If I take the same Application and make it a CE application then the version information is embedded correctly within the application. My problem is that the application is intended for Windows Mobile 6 and not CE.

How can I get the version number to be set properly within my executable?

    Thanks a million.

  • Hi Val,

As far as know, In Visual Studio 2010 you could not build a project for Windows mobile 6. We can use Visual Studio 2008 or Visual Studio 2005 to build the Windows mobile special project.

In project wizard->Smart Device->Smart Device Project: you can select the project type here.

To get the version information, please see this Version Class document.

I hope these information can help you to solve this problem.

    Best regards,

    Jesse
