  • Question

  • Does anyone have Portainer running successfully on Windows Server 2016?

I can run the Portainer container, but:

    - using a browser on the host, cannot connect to the Portainer port i.e. http://[server IP][Portainer port]

    - also on the host, cannot connect to the Portainer port using the NAT address of the container i.e. http://[container IP][Portainer port]

    - can connect to the Portainer port from a remote browser, i.e. not from the host itself, using http://[server IP][Portainer port]

    - when I try to connect to the Docker service within Portainer, it says "local connection not available on Windows" and if I try a remote connection it says "unable to upload certs" although I am using the standard port 2375 and not using TLS.

  • Hi there, i can help you with this, but its easier at I have Portainer working fine under windows 2k16, just make sure the Docker daemon is enabled for tcp, and then when starting Portainer, you need to use the Docker0 network default gateway as the Docker endpoint (you cannot use the hosts external IP). Anyway, if you need interactive support, join us on the Portainer slack channel.
